"The MFA Book Arts + Printmaking program at the University of the Arts was the springboard for everything that I am doing now. It is where I fell in love with letterpress printing and created my first broadsides. I reflect on my time in Philadelphia and at UArts with nothing but great fondness. I remain extremely close with many of the alumni and faculty of the book arts and printmaking department.

One of the great things about the program is the diversity of work being produced. A great energy and camaraderie amongst the students was created and this pushed everyone to produce their best work.

After graduating I moved to Marietta, Ohio and started a letterpress business with my wife Sara called Just A Jar Design Press. After starting in our garage 7 years ago, we just moved into a beautiful downtown storefront in our historic river town in southeast Ohio. We specialize in woodcut posters and art prints, but have also created t-shirt lines, beer and wine labels, chocolate and coffee packaging and much more. Our clients include Jack Daniel’s, Willie Nelson, Belle and Sebastian, and Soundgarden, to name a few.

Recent accolades include: Our annual poster campaign for the Jack Daniel’s barbecue championship has won multiple national Addy Awards; we were featured in Ohio Magazine’s best of Ohio; and were featured on the Ohio PBS series, Broad & High."
